Commercial Real Estate- Do you Have to have a license to broker commecial deals?

My understanding is you do not need to be licensed to get a CCIM designation, or work in the commercial real estate field. But can anyone point me to a reference, or a place where I can get more information.

How can I be a Commercial real estate broker In CA?

I am interested in getting familiar with commerical real estate.
I am currently only in residential real estate.

What do I need to get into commercial real estate?

Such as…
-What kind of membership do I need?
-Do I need to buy any key access?
-What about MLS?

Please help me what step I need to take for learning commercial real estate?
